About Notes on a Party

Notes on a Party is an online magazine that celebrates the art of entertaining by covering Events from the Inside Out™. Written for a sophisticated audience, the site features “notes” on the most talented event vendors, cool resources from the Web, original gift ideas and tips on party planning.

A seasoned event planner, Founder and Editor-in-Chief Celia Chen has produced parties for some of the world’s most recognized personalities and brands including P. Diddy, Prada, Chrysler, Conde Nast Publications, MINI Cooper, Miss Sixty, W Hotels, 60 Thompson, Indochine, The Shore Club, FIJI Water, Beauty.com among others.

Fondly known as The Lazy Hostess, Celia subscribes to the philosophy that entertaining can be simple yet stylish with some savvy planning and a little help from “her friends.”  Through her site Notesonaparty.com, Celia gives her readers a sneak peak into her coveted rolodex of the best venues, caterers, florists, designers, DJ’s and more.

A nationally recognized entertaining expert, Celia is also a contributing writer for the Style section of The Huffington Post, an entertaining expert on pingg.com (along side Martha Stewart!) and Stirrings.com, as well as a recurring guest on the show Hollywood Green, produced by NBC’s Access Hollywood.

Notes on a Party has quickly become the go-to resource for both professional party planners and social hostesses looking for inspiration and ideas.  The company has grown to include an exclusive event series called “A Night of Eco-Chic Entertaining,” and an online directory called The Venue Pages for those looking for the perfect event space.
